Dear Sir, Hallowell, Feb 20, 1801

I take the liberty of recommending our patient's pursuing the following course.

  1. An emetic, on the evening
  2. Calomel & jalap, (10 gr. of each) on the day following, & again at a proper interval.
  3. Valerian & chalybeates.
  4. A shower bath.
  5. Society & exertion.

I have directed what is to be done as to the shower bath, society, & exertion. The Chalybeate should be what you please; but rust of iron would do, taken in doses of 2 grains, twice daily."

Yours Sincerely, BV
