Martha Ballard's Diary, March 30 - April 5, 1807

Clear. I left mr Braleys Early this Morn, Came to Son Jonas. he Sent for his Father, we took Breakfast there. Son Lambard & [Gidyon] Barton allso. I Came home and did Some washing. Georg Heartwel had a fitt and I was Calld there. [Loiza] Gilbd is unwel allso, and Parkers Child. at mr Braleys, Son Jonas & Heartwels; have done Some washing.

Snowd from 3h pm all night, a Severe Storm. I have done my hous work. Jona B. Slept here. Dagt Ballard Sent me a Decanter of Cherry Rhum. I Sent her 2qts Vinagar. at home.

Snows & Blows but we are able to Make a fire and have food to Eat, which is a great Mercy for which I wish to thank ye Great Doner. mr Ballard went to Son Jonas. I finisht Wilms hoes and began to foot one for Cyrus. at home. there was a meeting at Son Jonas to Chuse oficers.

Clear but Cool. mr Soal & Rheubin Brown got wood for us. I have done my hous work & knitt Some. at home.

A Severe Snow Storm. I have been at home. Jona B. Slept here. at home.

Snowd and very windy, Clear at Evng. I have done my hous work, washt some. Son Jona, his Sons Jona & Wilm Supt. ye boys Sleep here. they brot me a Pie. mr Heartwel here at Evng for Indien Meal & Candle. at home.

Clear part of ye day. mr Ballard and Cyrus to meeting. Sons Jona & Ephm and yr wives took Tea here, Jon a Junr, Wm & Martha & Soffa allso. Son Cyrus Sleeps here. Son Lambd & wife been to Son Pollards; were not here but left information at Son Jonas that Rhoda Pollard was very unwel. at home. my Sons & wives here.
