Martha Ballard's Diary, May 20 - 23, 1792

Clear morn. I went to Bed after Day, rose with the Sun, took Breakfas^t & Left mr Preskotts at 7h morn accompanied by Noah, his Son. I Calld at mr Benⁿ Porters, his wife gave me a Legg off Veal. I Calld at mr Fosters, find her & inft as well as Could be Expected. She had an ill turn yester^dy when her milk Came, but is Cleverly. I arivd at home at y^e 11^th h morn, took Dinner & went to See mrs Livermore who was put to Bed yester^dy, & is Cleverly; her inft allso. I was Calld from there to See the wife of Lem^l Jackson, arivd 8h pm, find her Exercis^d with Cramp pains. tarried all night, was much fatagud with my Exercise.

Came from mr Preskotts & went to Lem^l Jacksons. I receivd 9/ off mr Preskott.

Clear. mrs Jackson is relievd of her Distress & I left her at 3h pm. I Calld at Jon^a^s, mr Childs & Wessons. arivd home at 8 Evn.

Clear. I went to See mrs Livermr foren. Son Jon^a Dind here, informs me his Daddy was well & Expects to return home Soon. I went up to the Stores aftern.

a^t mr Livermors. I putt 17 Eggs und^r a turkey.

Clear. mr Densmore & wife & Dat^t Dolly Dind here. mrs Dinsmr & I went to See mrs Livermore who is Cleverly.
