Martha Ballard's Diary, May 20 - 23, 1792

Clear morn. I went to Bed after Day, rose with the Sun, took Breakfast & Left mr Preskotts at 7h morn accompanied by Noah, his Son. I Calld at mr Benn Porters, his wife gave me a Legg off Veal. I Calld at mr Fosters, find her & inft as well as Could be Expected. She had an ill turn yesterdy when her milk Came, but is Cleverly. I arivd at home at ye 11th h morn, took Dinner & went to See mrs Livermore who was put to Bed yesterdy, & is Cleverly; her inft allso. I was Calld from there to See the wife of Leml Jackson, arivd 8h pm, find her Exercisd with Cramp pains. tarried all night, was much fatagud with my Exercise. Came from mr Preskotts & went to Leml Jacksons. I receivd 9/ off mr Preskott.

Clear. mrs Jackson is relievd of her Distress & I left her at 3h pm. I Calld at Jonas, mr Childs & Wessons. arivd home at 8 Evn. at Jacksons.

Clear. I went to See mrs Livermr foren. Son Jona Dind here, informs me his Daddy was well & Expects to return home Soon. I went up to the Stores aftern. at mr Livermors. I putt 17 Eggs undr a turkey.

Clear. mr Densmore & wife & Datt Dolly Dind here. mrs Dinsmr & I went to See mrs Livermore who is Cleverly. at Ditoes & wrote to DoctBarton.
